Belted Galloways are generally of a quiet, friendly temperament. They have a strong maternal instinct and are protective of their calves if threatened.

Hardy & Unique!

Belted Galloway cattle are naturally polled (without horns). The most noticeable characteristic is its broad white belt encircling the body, earning the nickname "Oreo" (after the cookie). Its coarse hair outercoat helps shed rain & snow and its soft fuzzy undercoat provides insulation, making it a hardy breed for our harsh winter conditions.

Quality & Taste!

Belted Galloway cattle produce a high quality, well marbled beef that is higher in Omega 6's & 3's, and has less saturated fat & total fat than domestic breeds. The ground beef is well below the extra lean standard of 10% total fat content stated by The Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence:
